After a stellar group of military spouses started Blue Star Families, they embarked on a mission to support, connect, and empower military families. One of the myriad ways they have accomplished this is by hiring military spouses that work virtually from every corner of the nation, and Germany!
Currently, we have one opportunity available at Blue Star Families.
We're accepting applications until April 28, 2014 for the Director of Research and Policy.
The successful candidate will be a seasoned and experienced leader who has personal experience with the military community and a passion for informing public discussion on issues surrounding the military lifestyle. Ideally s/he will bring a strong background of interaction within the military community with an emphasis on how research and informed context influence the public policy process.
BSF seeks someone with a broad background of experiences with the military community, preferably one who brings a wide-ranging network of contacts and experts who can be drawn on for advice. An appreciation of innovative and cutting edge solutions and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are required for this role. An understanding of the non-profit sector will be helpful but is not required.
The Director of Research and Policy has primary responsibility for the development of research goals and policy initiatives for BSF. Included in this responsibility is the development and execution of BSF’s Annual Military Lifestyle Survey along with forums and issue briefs derived from Survey findings and managing and expanding our current issue portfolio by developing other opportunities for research in the area of military family issues.
