Books on Bases Brings Program to Camp Lejeune
KPMG and Blue Star Families offer recordable story books to families of deployed service members on Camp Lejeune
Camp Lejeune, NC—Thanks to a donation by KPMG, an international audit, tax and advisory firm, Blue Star Families’ Books on Bases Program recently provided recordable story books to the families of deploying service member on USMC Camp Lejeune.
For many military families preparing for a loved one to deploy includes months of preplanning; taking family photos, writing letters, picking out books to read together or read and record, all great ways to bring comfort to the child of a deployed service member.
“These books will allow families to continue to bond with their loved ones throughout their deployment. Nothing can replace the comfort a child feels when they hear their parent’s voice; having that parents voice at the push of a button as they follow along in a book provides a great opportunity for them to stay connected“ said Tricia Ross, Program Manager of Books on Bases.
