It is our pleasure to announce the 2015 Salute to Distinction Quarter 4 Award Winner: Elizabeth Castro, Chapter Director, San Antonio.
Blue Star Families is an organization built on the strength of its volunteers. The dedication of volunteers like Elizabeth reaches every facet of our work, from Research and Development to program delivery and event planning. Our volunteers give their time and talent to help the military family community and do so often without regard to their own recognition.
Liz has been a dedicated Chapter Director in the San Antonio area since February 2015. Over the last 10 months, she has made a big impact in her community. In Quarter 4, Liz volunteered over 130 hours of her time supporting various BSF events, including a Caregivers Empowering Caregivers workshop and an Operation Appreciation service project with Booz Allen Hamilton employees. Here’s what her nominee had to say…
“Liz is always ready and willing to help with event planning in her area; when several large events were thrown at her all at once, she embraced everything with a smile. She has networked with several key leaders in the area and she continues to make connections everywhere she goes. Her constant engagement on social media is a key factor to her success. She is a fantastic Chapter Director that has already made a huge impact in her community, and I can’t wait to see how she brings BSF to even more families in the future.”
We are honored to name Elizabeth Castro as our 2015 Salute to Distinction Quarter 4 winner. Congratulations, Elizabeth!
