Today, I had the opportunity to represent the Blue Star SpouseForce team at the White House where First Lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden recognized companies and organizations contributing to veterans and military spouses in the technology workforce. Since Joining Forces launched in 2011, more than 1.2 million veterans and military spouses have been hired or trained as a result of the program. Blue Star Families is so excited to be part of this important national priority.
Blue Star SpouseForce is a true example of a collaborative effort. By partnering with the Salesforce Academic Alliance and The Clinton Foundation, and with the gracious support of the Walmart Foundation and Bluewolf, Blue Star SpouseForce trains and connects military spouses on the Salesforce CRM platform. Another key partners is Bluewolf, a SalesForce Global Strategic Partner, whose team members facilitates the training and provides guidance to the participants.
The SpouseForce team is honored to join more than 50 technology companies and organizations that pledged to collectively train and hire more than 110,00 veterans and military spouses by 2021 as a part of the Joining Forces new anniversary pledge.
Our team shared the following pledge:
Blue Star Families, in partnership with the Clinton Health Matters Initiative and Salesforce Academic Alliance, have pledged to train 100 military spouses and caregivers through the Blue Star SpouseForce program. SpouseForce is an 8-week training that provides participants with the knowledge and tools to prepare for the Salesforce Certified Administrator exam. At completion of the training ,SpouseForce participants will be connected to hands-on experience and professional development opportunities in their community.
In addition to SpouseForce, Blue Star Careers provides a broad range of military spouse employment and education initiatives designed to support military family members throughout their entire career path. These initiatives include the Blue Star Spouse Employment Toolkit, a comprehensive career guide, developed exclusively for military spouses, that targets and addresses the unique employment challenges military spouses face; Blue Star Networks, Facebook groups where military spouse professionals gather to share professional information, network and get the scoop on licensing requirements across the country; and Blue Star Networks Live!, events that connect military spouses to a network of industry executives looking to provide career development and employment opportunities compatible with the military lifestyle.
I encourage you to explore our offerings, join our free network, and see how Blue Star Families can help you meet your career goals.
