Washington, D.C., May 9, 2017 – Blue Star Families, a military family advocacy non-profit, today announced that Chaitali Patel has joined the company as Chief External Affairs Officer.
Patel was formerly Senior Director and head of Catalyst Solutions, the B2B finance arm of Fundation Group. During her banking tenure, she held a variety of senior executive positions at major national financial institutions including the Bank of Hawaii, Zions Bancorp, PNC Bank and HSBC Holdings. Her fifteen-plus years in the banking sector include extensive experience with business strategy, bank operations, channel management and financial reporting.
“We are so pleased to welcome Chaitali to our team,” said Kathy Roth-Douquet, Chief Executive Officer of Blue Star Families. “With her track record of growing highly successful organizations from scratch, her intimate understanding of the challenges facing military families, and her deep passion to contribute to the community, Chaitali brings the skills, experience and drive to help take Blue Star Families’ social impact to a whole new level.”
Blue Star Families, a 501c3 nonprofit, helps American military families enjoy the same quality of life and feeling of connectedness that all Americans deserve. The data on military life revealed in the annual Military Family Lifestyle Survey has been instrumental in creating solutions to the challenges facing today’s military families. Blue Star Families programs deliver essential benefits such as career development, caregiver support, cultural and educational programming and supportive connections to civilians and businesses in their communities.
A highly-reputable banking and FinTech executive, Patel is also a co-founder of and managing partner at Washington Partners, a FinTech consulting firm. She holds a B.A. in Finance from University of North Texas and an MBA from the University of Utah’s Eccles School of Business.
“Working for Blue Star Families fulfills two very important goals for me,” said Patel, a proud Air Force spouse. “One is to devote my energies to a cause-focused organization. The other is to advocate on behalf of my own community. I am excited to leverage my experience building and scaling numerous businesses to expand Blue Star Families’ capacity to strengthen our nation’s military families.”
