Blue Star Families and SCORE Join Forces to Mentor Military Spouse Entrepreneurs
Military spouses’ trusted source for free and confidential small business advice.
WASHINGTON, DC– Today Blue Star Families (BSF) and SCORE announced their partnership in support of military spouse entrepreneurs. BSF’s mission is to strengthen military families by understanding and providing them with solutions to the challenges they face today. Through this partnership, BSF and SCORE will work together to combat military spouse underemployment and unemployment by connecting spouses to mentors who can help them start, run, and grow a small business.
“SCORE is a long-standing resource that is trusted and admired in the business sector,” said Lindsay Bradford, BSF’s Senior Advisor for Careers, praising their new partner. “We approached SCORE knowing their network could help our spouses navigate the complicated process of establishing a business amidst frequent moves required by the national security mission their families support.”
“SCORE is proud to partner with Blue Star Families to ensure that military spouses who dream of starting small businesses have the resources and support they need to be successful,” said SCORE CEO Ken Yancey. “Every one of our 10,000 volunteer mentors across the nation has firsthand business experience, and they are eager to share that wealth of information with current and aspiring entrepreneurs.”
Over the next several years, BSF and SCORE will work together to align military spouses with mentors who can help them succeed.
