Here’s an Easy Way to Support the Troops this Holiday Season

We’ve been busy Santa’s Helpers this holiday season! Our Blue Star Families elves put up and decorated Yellow Ribbon Trees in 48 Starbucks stores across the country in honor of our service members far from home. It’s a holiday tradition we started in partnership with Starbucks in 2016.

To participate, write your hero’s name or a message of support and add it to the tree when you see one. If you want to take it one step further, snap a selfie (or ask someone to take a pic) and post it to your social media, tagging #BSFYellowRibbonTree so we can share in the salute to your service member!

Frequently, we’re asked to bring our trees to more stores, and we wish we could snap our fingers and say, “YES! You got it!” to every single request.

But, the truth is, we can’t do that.

While we have lots of trees this year, there are so many more places we could be. We’re working hard to expand our services, but we need you!

The Yellow Ribbon Tree campaign exists because of our all-star #BSFVolunteers who have grown the program significantly in just three years. Military supporters have raised their hands from California all the way to New York to give people – spouses, kids, moms, dads, and friends – a place to celebrate and honor their heroes during the holidays. Check out our store map to see if there’s one near you.

Don’t see a store in your area?

Don’t fret! While it’s too late to add a tree this year, you can bring a Yellow Ribbon Tree to your area next year by becoming a BSF Volunteer. You’ll be the first to know when we launch the 2019 camping and can step up  to help. (Psst… You don’t have to be a military family member to volunteer. We call civilian military supporters  Blue Star Neighbors, and we’d love for you to join us here.)

This campaign is in partnership with Starbucks and Design and Source Productions; both are fierce advocates for veterans and their families.
