Blue Star Families Accepts Honor On Behalf of Military Families
Washington, D.C. – On January 20, Blue Star Families accepted a national award for their leadership and service to the military community during the 4th annual Veterans Awards at the Watergate Hotel in Washington, D.C.
Also known as the Vettys, this awards program–created by The Academy of United States Veterans’–honors public servants, leaders, and innovators within the veteran space. The Leadership Award category nominations are open to the public and seek to recognize individuals and organizations who innovate, create, and collaborate on behalf of the military community.
Celebrating a decade of service during 2019, Blue Star Families brings Blue Star Neighbors and military families together, working across the aisle and boardroom to develop innovative technologies, programs, and partnerships that find real, meaningful solutions to military life challenges. More than 1,500,000 military family members have been touched through Blue Star Families’ work since 2009.
“Military families often find themselves isolated,” said Kathy Roth-Douquet, CEO of Blue Star Families. “Blue Star Families creates a network of support for military families in their communities through resources, programs, and connections to their Blue Star Neighbors.”
