BSF Volunteers are Making a Difference

Published: July 20, 2019

2018 BSF Volunteers are those who empower people to change the world.

There’s a quote by DeAnn Hollis that reads,

“The heart of a volunteer is never measured in size, but by the depth of the COMMITMENT to make a difference in the lives of others.”

And we couldn’t agree more. Blue Star Families’ team of volunteers have the biggest hearts because of their deep commitment to making a difference in the lives of our nation’s military family members.

Without their sincere dedication to give back on a local level, we wouldn’t be able to further our mission of empowering military families to thrive by connecting them to their civilian neighborsboth people and organizations. All that to say, powerful communities of support continue to form, and the military-civilian gap inches closer and closer together.

But don’t just take our word for it.

Here are some astonishing achievements from volunteer initiatives so far in 2019:

  • Our volunteers have donated more than 3,000 hours of their time to support programs that help our military families thrive.
  • Volunteers have done everything from passing out children’s books to hosting local Coffee Connect! events, and talking about the importance of the annual Military Family Lifestyle Survey (MFLS).
  • Collectively, our programs and resources have been shared with more than 56,108 military family members and Blue Star Neighbors
