Blue Star Neighbor Starbucks Welcomes MilFams to Communities Nationwide

Published: October 4, 2019

“The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members.”

– Coretta Scott King

And our Blue Star Neighbor Starbucks knows all about that.

A supportive, connected community plays a huge role in the lives of our nation’s military families. It eases the strains of the often demanding lifestyle and stimulates a greater sense of belonging.

So, throughout the year, to unite military family members with their civilian neighbors and create strong communities of support, our dedicated volunteers join forces with Starbucks to host events at Starbucks stores nationwide.

In fact, you might’ve seen or participated in a Valentine’s Day card-making party or Military Spouse Appreciation Day get-together earlier this year!

But the fun doesn’t stop there.

This month and into October, to conclude yet another busy PCS season, we’re hosting Welcome to the Community Coffee Connect events at more than 50 Starbucks locations across the country!

Blue Star Families volunteers will be on-site to share a ready-to-fill local guide to spark conversations among families. No matter if you’re new to the area or you’ve been there for years, you’re guaranteed to have some fun as you work together to compile a list of favorites like the best pizza restaurant, grocery store, park, and so much more.

Why is this one BSF gathering you won’t want to miss?

Adjusting to an unfamiliar location doesn’t get any easier—no matter how many times you’ve done it. But mixing and mingling with other neighbors in your community to identify the must-see and try spots in your area will help you embrace your new duty station and make it feel a tad more like home.
