It’s the most wonderful time of the year… unless you’re battling it out in a shopping mall’s parking lot for the last space. Or standing in line. Or just stressing about your shopping list.
But shopping shouldn’t dampen your spirits. After all, it’s the season of generosity and joy. And we have a few ways that you can be generous to Blue Star Families and feel the joy of easing your holiday gift list. We’re talking about ways to save money, donate without spending a cent, finding a gift for that impossible-to-shop-for person on your list, and making your rewards points count for military families.
Yassss. Here’s how to do all of those things:
If you’re shopping online this season, chances are, you’re probably shopping Amazon for at least a few items on your list. When you shop at Amazon.com using AmazonSmile, Amazon will donate a percentage of your sale to Blue Star Families. The two best parts about it? It costs you absolutely nothing and you can shop using AmazonSmile to benefit Blue Star Families all year round, not just during the holidays! Get started on your holiday presents early this year with AmazonSmile.
Every family has at least one: the person you can’t buy for. Maybe they live a life of excitement and intrigue and nothing you purchase will be as cool as what they can get themselves. Maybe they’ve downsized into a smaller home, are in between moves, or just don’t want a lot of “stuff.” Whatever the reason, shopping for this person is tough, like rack-your-brain tough. Why not donate to Blue Star Families in their name? You can even send them notification of their donation gift electronically!
If you’re a USAA member with a USAA Rewards credit card, you can donate your rewards points to Blue Star Families so we can keep doing what we do: supporting military families. You can donate points once you reach a 1,000 point threshold– that’s $10 for BSF! Here’s how you can do that.
This holiday season, as you make your list and check it twice, we are so grateful that you’re thinking of military families, too. We look forward to a brighter 2020 where we can serve more military families, thanks to you!
