BSF & Starbucks Join Forces to Bring Yellow Ribbon Trees to Stores Nationwide

This holiday season, Blue Star Families has once again teamed up with Starbucks stores across the country to host Yellow Ribbon Trees. These trees honor service members who may be gone for the holidays and serve as a symbol of each community’s support for families of those who serve. Check out this page to see if there’s a tree in your area so you can join in the festivities and hang an ornament!

From Intern to 20-Year Employee as a Military Spouse!

AT&T is proud to hire veterans and their family members and to support training and skills-building programs that put veterans on the path to career success. As AT&T celebrates achieving its goal to hire 20,000 veterans by 2020, the company remains focused on identifying new opportunities for veterans and their families so that they can continue to succeed in a variety of industries. AT&T has announced it’s awarding a $50,000 grant to Blue Star Families to support our work. This grant funding will go a long way toward helping us carry out our mission of serving the loved ones of those who have served our country.

One of the 50 Best Small Workplaces Wants to Hire More Military Spouses

Have you heard of Boldly? Boldly is a proud BSF partner who was recently named Fortune Magazine’s 50 Best Small Workplaces! And in even better news – Boldly recently announced their initiative to hire more than 75 military spouses in 2020 for 100% remote, W2 positions (with benefits!).

Boldly is a different type of remote staffing company — not a gig or platform solution. It hires each team member as a W2 employee. Once hired, team members complete a paid onboarding program before Boldly’s talented client success team personally matches them with companies to get working right away. Boldly’s tight-knit team operates in 23 states across the U.S. in the fields of executive assistance, marketing, project management, bookkeeping, and paralegal, supporting impressive clients (including executives at Apple, Facebook, Zendesk, and more).

Boldly’s Founder, Sandra Lewis, explained why the company is passionate about hiring military spouses: “Military spouses are some of our best candidates. They’re resourceful, adaptable, quick to learn, dedicated, loyal, grounded, and savvy. I don’t know why any company would hesitate in bringing on a candidate with those types of skills!”

Additionally, Devin Drake, a Boldly team member, and the company’s military spouse team advocate, is passionate about spreading the word to other spouses on how to find legitimate, W2 remote positions: “I tried for years to find remote work that was consistent, offered benefits, and made me feel like I was part of a team. Boldly is truly leading the way, and I’m so thankful for their commitment to employing my fellow spouses!”
