Blue Star Families & Spiritune Partner to Engage Military Families in Self-Care During COVID-19 Crisis

Published: May 6, 2020

WASHINGTON, D.C. – As part of Military Appreciation Month and Mental Health Awareness Month, Blue Star Families and Spiritune have announced a new partnership that gives military families complimentary access to the Spiritune app, which was created to help manage emotional health. Spiritune and Blue Star Families are year-round partners but are proud to be joining forces during this critical period of uncertainty and levels.

Spiritune is an app that harnesses cutting edge neuroscience and music therapy techniques to give listeners a reliable, enjoyable, scientifically-informed music solution for stress reduction, emotional regulation, performance, productivity, and an overall increase in well-being. Through the combination of human-composed and AI-optimized music, Spiritune customizes playlists from a scientific perspective for users to feel better and perform better.

“Since the start of Coronavirus quarantines, military families have been sharing their struggles with us through our weekly COVID-19 Pain Points Poll,” said Kathy Roth-Douquet, CEO of Blue Star Families. “In late April, 68 percent of respondents reported being considerably more stressed than they were before this crisis. Spiritune is the kind of accessible self-care and mental health support that our families desperately need right now.”

“It’s important to be of service to those who have served us,” said Jamie Pabst, Founder and CEO of Spiritune. “And we can think of no better way to give back during this difficult time than to partner with Blue Star Families in their mission to support military families.”

Blue Star Families’ mission is to be a voice for – and provide frontline resources to – America’s service members and their families year-round, especially during the COVID-19 crisis. By partnering with Spiritune, Blue Star Families members will receive complimentary access to a tool that will help them cope with isolation, stress, and emotional hardship during a national health pandemic and forever – all from the comfort of their home.
