“The joy we feel has little to do with the circumstances of our lives and everything do to with the focus of our lives.”—Russell M. Nelson
Business Operations Specialist
Marine Corps Spouse
Aleah Wood joined Blue Star Families earlier this year as an Operations Fellow and has recently advanced to the role of an Operations Specialist. Aleah graduated from Brigham Young University – Idaho with a bachelor’s degree in English education with the intent to pursue a job in teaching, but after graduating college landed a job at a bank working as an executive assistant. With her previous experience in management, and career preparation her career aspirations shifted away from education and towards management, operations, and human resources.
As a military spouse of only a few years and no family military background, Aleah is learning more every day about the challenges of military life as she has struggled personally with finding employment through the many moves her family has been through. This is why her favorite resource is the Blue Star Families Military Lifestyle Survey because it shares the true struggles of military spouses.
Besides working for BSF, Aleah spends her time in sunny southern California with her one year old daughter and husband. She enjoys cooking, reading, being outside, time with family, and reaching her health and fitness goals.
