Heather Donnithorne

Heather Donnithorne joined Blue Star Families in June of 2014 as the organization’s Executive Assistant. Heather has spent her career working in leadership management positions, including 10+ years in Higher Education. She also has 15+ years coordinating volunteer initiatives with and in military communities, with Habitat for Humanity, and with Special Olympics. She is most proud of her military volunteer endeavors, which include: NAS Pensacola USO, Senior Key Spouse Mentor Program lead for 21 MSG, Peterson AFB, Mission Support Group Commanders Roundtable, Command Spouse Training Panel Speaker, Emergency Family Assistance Center staging and volunteer coordinator, Hiring our Heroes job fair volunteer coordinator, Active Heroes marketing/publicity volunteer for Walk Across America, MilSpouse/eMentor Leadership Program, Planning Committee member with Airmen and Family Readiness Center for many military family events including: Holiday Toy Drives, Deployed Family Dinners, Clothing Swap, Marriage/Family/Relationship Enhancement Retreats, Father/Daughter Dance, Caring for People Forum, KUDO’s (Kids Undergoing Deployment Operations), Airmen’s Attic Ribbon Cutting, Family of Heroes Online Resiliency Training, and as an“On Course with the Military Child” Art Contest Judge. Heather graduated from University of Missouri-Kansas City with a degree in Psychology and a dual-degree in Art History and History. Heather is proud to be an Air Force spouse, where her husband, currently assigned to Hurlburt Field, and two children, live alongside the beautiful Emerald Coast in Navarre, FL.
