Jerel Ezell, PhD, MPH
Jerel Ezell is a mixed methods researcher who, over the past decade, has conducted multifaceted community-based research focused on social equity and health disparities. He has undertaken research alongside a variety of community stakeholders, including government officials, judicial court professionals, clinicians, social workers, and K-12 teachers. In addition, Jerel has been involved in applied research and outreach to various socially and medically-vulnerable groups, including individuals with substance use issues and those with serious mental illness. Jerel holds a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Chicago, and he is currently an assistant professor in Africana Studies at Cornell University.
