Jerel Ezell is a mixed methods researcher based out of Chicago, Illinois. Over the past decade, Jerel has been conducting multifaceted community-based research focused on social equity and health disparities, working with a variety of community stakeholders, including local government officials, judicial court professionals, social workers, and public school teachers. In addition, Jerel has been involved in applied research and outreach to various socially and medically-vulnerable groups, including individuals with substance use issues and individuals with serious mental illness.
Jerel holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) in sociomedical sciences from Columbia University in New York and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in anthropology from the University of Michigan. He is currently enrolled in the PhD program in sociology at the University of Chicago and is expected to graduate in June 2020.
