Bio

Kimberly Bacso is the Senior Marketing Manager, Campaigns for Blue Star Families. For over 20 years, she has paired attention to detail with creativity to drive organizational success by leading educational and wellness initiatives. Highly skilled in creating strategic digital content strategies, she’s grown online and in-person communities with a word-of-mouth, grassroots approach.

A proud U.S. Army spouse, Kimberly seeks ways to use her strong leadership skills to uplift the military community. She co-founded InDependent, a non-profit on a mission to make wellness accessible to all military spouses, where she served as the operations/content director and the board treasurer. She especially loved providing wellness strategies at the individual and small-group level to help spouses connect and successfully navigate military life. She has also worked as the managing editor of Legacy Magazine and as a Parent to Parent team lead for the Military Child Education Coalition where she learned the profound impact of storytelling on the lives of military families. She volunteers as a writer for the Association of Military Spouse Entrepreneurs, covering wellness, entrepreneurship, and business topics.

Early in her career, Kimberly worked as a staff accountant at a public accounting firm and as a senior accountant at a Fortune 100 company where she learned to deliver better-than-expected work product and lead a team of professionals. During that time, she fell in love with the health benefits of yoga and later became a registered yoga teacher. She holds a degree in business with a concentration in accounting, magna cum laude, from Walla Walla University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Colorado at Denver.

When she’s not working, you can find Kimberly trying new plant-based recipes, practicing yoga, or traveling off the beaten path with her husband and teenage daughter.
