Maria Mahoney has been a part of Blue Star Families in various capacities since 2011. Starting as a special projects volunteer, to Chapter Director, to her current role of National Experience Coordinator.
Maria graduated from Boston University with a BA in Political Science in 2006, and earned a Masters in Social Work from the University of Kansas in 2009. She has worked in the areas of mental health, domestic violence and sexual assault (direct services and prevention), parent education through her work with the Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC) and volunteer work through Blue Star Families, various Family Readiness Groups, and Junior League.
A former Army spouse, Maria has two elementary school age boys and lives in Northern Virginia.
