Maria Mahoney has been a part of Blue Star Families in various capacities since 2010: from a special projects volunteer, to Chapter Director, to administrative assistant.
Maria graduated from Boston University with a BA in Political Science in 2006, and earned a Masters in Social Work from the University of Kansas in 2009. She has worked in the areas of mental health, domestic violence and sexual assault (direct services and prevention), parent education through her work with the Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC) and volunteer work through Blue Star Families, various Family Readiness Groups, and Junior League.
In nine years as an Army Spouse, Maria has moved seven times, supported her husband through eight combat deployments and countless TDYs.
Maria and her husband have two boys ages 4 and 1, and try to embrace any location and any situation the Army throws at them.
