Tosombra “Tai” Kimes displays the true marks of a military brat flower, the dandelion. She blooms wherever she is planted. She earned her Children’s Etiquette Certification while stationed at Fort Bragg, NC, with her husband, SSG (ret.) Casey Kimes. There, she implemented etiquette classes for and volunteered with several non profit youth organizations and even developed a preschool program. Shortly after moving to Fort Leonard Wood, MO, in 2011, she began volunteering with the local schools, local non profits, and Blue Star Families.

Tai earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from American InterContinental University. As a servant leader within the community, she earned a Presidential Award. She continues to work with youth through dance programs and etiquette classes.

Tai is passionate about advocating for our youth and our military. Her favorite Blue Star Families programs are Books on Bases and Caregivers Empowering Caregivers. Tai’s father served over 30 years in the Army, she served 6 years, and her husband served 15 1⁄2 years, which included one tour to Iraq and two tours to Afghanistan. His last tour resulted in severe injuries that in turn led to an early retirement in 2015. Tai and her husband made Missouri their home with children, Xianne and Xzjuan.
