Our Program Partners
At the heart of Military Families Outdoors is a coalition of partners working side by side to serve military families. Each brings unique expertise from outdoor education to family engagement to health and wellness in order to make the outdoors more welcoming, accessible, and meaningful for those who serve. Whether it’s a day trip to a local park, a weekend at camp, or an expedition in a national park, these partners create opportunities that strengthen families and help them to connect, recharge, and thrive.
Blue Star Families opens doors to nearby adventures through its Blue Star Connect Outdoors program. From camping and hiking to canoeing, fishing, and conservation projects, families find activities that help them feel at home in both nature and their communities. Partnerships with the National Park Service and local organizations make these programs deeply rooted and accessible wherever military families live.
Wilderness Inquiry helps families discover the outdoors together — whether through a single-day Canoemobile outing or a multi-day adventure in the Boundary Waters or a National Park. Through these experiences, families build strength, confidence, skills, and lifelong memories while cementing bonds with each other and our natural world.
Together, these partners ensure military families have year-round access to nature-rich experiences that support military readiness by improving health, belonging, and connection — no matter where military life takes them.
Military Families Outdoors (MFO) advances national security by strengthening the resilience and readiness of the All-Volunteer Force.
