Military Families Serving Military Families
Blue Star Families is truly by military families and for military families. At our core, we are a member-driven group with representatives at more than 70 bases around the world. To help support this amazing community, we have a dynamic National Leadership team made of spouses and other family members of active duty, national guardsmen, reservists and veterans serving in all branches of our military all around the country.
Together we have moved more times than we care to remember, welcomed babies into the world with and without our husbands by our sides and sent our loved ones into harm's way enough times to make you cry. (We'd add up all these numbers for you, but you know as well as we do that the number of moves, kids and deployments are always changing!) Some of us even served in the military ourselves before changing roles and becoming the "dependent".
We are also – like many military family members – teachers, marketing and public relations professionals, PTA Presidents, attorneys, web designers, youth sports coaches, published authors, Family Readiness Officers, bloggers, graduate students, CPAs, scout leaders, human resources professionals, journalists, life-long volunteers, professional photographers, social services professionals, urban planners, classroom volunteers, executive assistants, management consultants and social scientists. Whew!
We "get" what it means to balance all the pieces of military family life and how, by connecting with and supporting and empowering each other, our lives and experiences can be made richer.
