Karly Howell
Associate Director, Research
Karly Howell is the Senior Research Manager at Blue Star Families with responsibility for the annual Military Family Lifestyle Survey and other focused research projects. Prior to joining BSF she served in leadership roles at several non-profit organizations, guiding programs designed to help both individuals and families thrive. The spouse of a recently retired Veteran, Karly was involved in efforts supporting military families throughout her husband’s 24 years of Navy service. This background gives her unique insight into the experiences of those on both sides of the military-civilian divide.
She earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh and a Master of Arts in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Karly resides in Pittsburgh, PA with her husband and two sons.
