Advancing Holistic Health of Veterans & Military Families

Published: October 21, 2022

According to the 2021 Military Family Lifestyle Survey, nearly a quarter (24%) of active-duty family respondents cite “military family quality of life” as a [primary] concern, pointing to instability and inconsistency in daily life as the reason.

Earlier this year, Humana Military launched Operation Family Resiliency (OFR), its inaugural cohort to support Veterans and military families and provide them with virtual health and mental health resources. OFR focuses on the collective impact and holistic health of military families and influencing policy that directly benefits them.

As the name suggests, OFR was a collective effort. Humana Military partnered with Blue Star Families, Team RWB, and the Military Family Advisory Network (MFAN) to ensure that military families received the best possible services and support.

Each partner offered unique products and services through OFR to promote overall health and well-being. Because of our commitment to advancing holistic health to military families, we provided families complimentary access to our Blue Star Perks, particularly memberships with health-driven brands like Headspace, Thrive Market, and Spiritune

In addition to the free resources for military families, OFR championed wellness and mental health efforts from May through October. Whether promoting Blue Star Welcome Week, helping to combat food insecurity, or challenging the stigma by prioritizing mental health, OFR achieved its goal by providing resources to help Veterans and military families flourish.

We know we’re stronger when we take care of one another. And at Blue Star Families, we’re committed to helping Veteran and military families thrive wherever they are. That’s why we chose to team up with Humana Military, Team RWB, and Military Family Advisory Network to create that community of mutual support through OFR. And there’s still time, through the end of October, to tap into the collaborative efforts designed to advance your overall well-being at humanamilitary.com/ofr
