Your Next Adventure: Blue Star Parks!

Blue Star Families is ready to take you on a new adventure: Blue Star Parks! As a military family, you already help protect our national treasures. Now it’s your turn to go out and explore them. There’s truly something for everyone, possibly right outside your door – and your admission is free!

Military families can visit over 2,000 national parks and federal recreation centers at no cost by going to a Federal Recreation site and getting the America the Beautiful park pass. Just obtain your pass before visiting the parks.

Marvel at the night sky at Cedar Breaks National Monument in Utah, bike along closed roads in Everglades National Park in Florida, or go caving at Great Basin National Park in Nevada. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg! And since an iceberg is just a runaway piece of an glacier, head to Glacier National Park in Montana if that’s on your bucket list!

Check here for FAQ and all you need to know to enjoy your pass.

When you arrive at a park, make sure to sign the kids up for Junior Rangers. Your child can do special activities, earn badges and receive official certificates. Can’t get to a national park? Don’t worry. Your kids can sign up online for WebRangers and still have fun exploring this summer!

So, what are you waiting for?

Discover something new while exploring the great outdoors as a family. Last summer, BSF Volunteer Chapter Director Erica Glass enjoyed a family trip that included 6 National Parks! Read all about her adventures! Can anyone top that? Let us know if you are up for the challenge.
