WASHINGTON, DC – Blue Star Families, a nonprofit dedicated to strengthening military families by connecting them with their neighbors, announced today that Julie Riggs, Acting Executive Director of the Blue Star Families’ National Capital Region Chapter, has been selected to serve on the Board of Trustees for the State of Maryland Veterans Trust Fund.
The Maryland Veterans Trust Fund is an organization designed to assist with nonemergency, temporary financial challenges facing Veterans or widows/widowers of Veterans. The Trust provides monetary and other assistance to both Veterans and their families and to programs that support them.
“I am excited to serve alongside so many dedicated individuals of the Maryland Veterans Trust Fund,” said Julie Riggs, Acting Executive Director of the Blue Star Families’ National Capital Region Chapter. “I gladly accept to be part of Gov. Wes Moore’s promise to create a more inclusive and experienced state government in which we can support those who have served and sacrificed for this country.”
