Kevin Cirilli joins Blue Star Families as Vice President of Brand Marketing

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Blue Star Families (BSF), the nation’s largest nonprofit dedicated to providing support to military and Veteran families, announces the addition of Kevin Cirilli as Vice President of Brand Marketing. Prior to joining Blue Star Families, Cirilli served as the media fellow for the Atlantic Council’s Global Tech Security Commission.

“Military-connected families and the civilian neighbors that support us need to know the Blue Star Families name to find us and our resources. Bringing Kevin Cirilli on board allows us to steward our brand into a new era, leveraging new opportunities and relationships with key stakeholders and partners within media, business, entertainment, and athletics,” said Blue Star Families CEO Kathy Roth-Douquet. “He brings a unique energy and enthusiasm for the Do Your Part initiative, which is essential to addressing the shifting needs of the military and Veteran families in the communities in which they live. Kevin’s deep global media experiences will also help to set Blue Star Families up for success in this ever-changing media landscape.”

Cirilli brings years of experience in media and political relations to Blue Star Families. A graduate of Penn State, Cirilli specializes in communications. His recent positions include broadcast contributor for Yahoo Finance and chief Washington correspondent for Bloomberg Television and Bloomberg Radio, where he was one of the youngest chief correspondents in broadcast journalism history. His work has also appeared in The Hill, CNN, C-SPAN, CBS News, Fox News, MSNBC, Yahoo Finance, POLITICO, and Men’s Health magazine.

Cirilli’s background and experience working in Washington, D.C., will support Blue Star Families’ increasing efforts in military family advocacy and policy change. He will also work to steward the organization’s national branding efforts for the annual Blue Star Welcome Week and the Do Your Part initiative, made possible by craig newmark philanthropies.

“I’m humbled to join Blue Star Families and to help their stellar team bring voice to America’s military families. Now, more than ever, it’s important for all of us to do our part for the common defense,” said Cirilli. “The stories of America’s military families far too often go untold. Blue Star Families’ research and Chapters make an unprecedented impact. I look forward to amplifying the incredible work of Blue Star Families’ team across a host of sectors, including: business, all forms of media, entertainment, athletics, academic, and policymakers.”
