Vin Duncan joins Blue Star Families as Its First Chief Financial Officer

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Blue Star Families (BSF), the nation’s largest nonprofit dedicated to supporting military and Veteran families, announces the addition of Vin Duncan as Chief Financial Officer. Before joining Blue Star Families, Duncan led the finance organization for Frito-Lay’s Foodservice Division.

“Our organization has grown rapidly over the years, and we recognize the importance of having a strong financial foundation to support our future growth,” said Blue Star Families Chief Operations Officer Noeleen Tillman. “Hiring our first Chief Financial Officer is a critical step in achieving this goal and ensuring the long-term success of our company.”

Duncan has over 30 years of experience in various financial leadership roles, including financial planning and analysis and transformation projects, serving at PepsiCo/Frito-Lay. He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington and holds an MBA from Southern Methodist University. While at PepsiCo/Frito-Lay, Duncan founded the PepsiCo Valor Employee Resource Group, focusing on supporting PepsiCo Veterans and their families. He received two PepsiCo Chairman’s Awards for his commitment to supporting Veterans.

Duncan’s background and experience in finance will support Blue Star Families’ commitment to nonprofit excellence and financial stewardship. Duncan is also a retired U.S. Army Reservist, serving for 30 years, with his last role as Brigade Commander of the 333rd Military Police in New York.

“Joining Blue Star Families is a great honor for me. It’s a special opportunity to share my time and experiences for something I am very passionate about,” said Duncan. “I hope to bring my personal experience and empathy as a military Veteran combined with my corporate career in finance to help our leadership team make the right financial and strategic decisions for the military families we support … I am grateful for the opportunity to help BSF continue to grow and expand their positive impact across the military community.”
