Blue Star Families Welcomes Charlie Lewis to its Board of Directors

Cybersecurity and National Security Leader Brings Deep Expertise in Risk, AI, and Military Service to Support Military and Veteran Families

Washington, D.C. — July 17, 2026

Blue Star Families, the nation’s largest nonprofit dedicated to supporting military and veteran families, today announced the appointment of Charlie Lewis to its Board of Directors.

Charlie Lewis, partner in McKinsey & Company’s Risk Practice and a U.S. Army Reserve officer, joins the Blue Star Families Board of Directors with deep expertise in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and military leadership. Lewis leads McKinsey’s North American and European Cyber Practice, advising Fortune 500 companies on cyber resilience and AI security. He also brings more than 13 years of Army service, including two deployments to Iraq with the 101st Airborne Division, helping establish the Army’s first Cyber Training Battalion, and serving as an Assistant Professor at the United States Military Academy at West Point.

His experience across the military, private sector, and national security communities will provide valuable guidance as Blue Star Families continues to grow its impact nationwide.
