Citadel Managing Director & Head of Corporate Affairs

A communications professional, speaker, and writer spanning roles in political campaigns, government, and corporations, Josh King joined Citadel as Managing Director and Head of Corporate Affairs in 2024.

For the prior seven years, King served Intercontinental Exchange (NYSE: ICE) as its Chief Communications Officer in 2018 and added duties as Head of Corporate Affairs of the New York Stock Exchange in 2022. With an audience of stakeholders including media, customers, investors and employees, King led a global team overseeing public relations, protocol, social media, broadcast productions, speechwriting and content creation for the $90 billion operator of worldwide exchanges, including the iconic NYSE.

Among ICE’s content offerings, many of which are produced in and around the NYSE Trading Floor, King created and served as the host of “Inside the ICE House,” the official podcast of the NYSE. During the course of the show’s more than 430 episodes over seven seasons, King interviewed scores of CEOs and CFOs, company founders and investors, an array of global government officials, authors and journalists. In 2023, King and his team launched NYSE TV to bring the sights and sounds of finance to streaming services.

During his earlier corporate career, King led the communications function at First Data Corporation (NYSE: FDC) from 2014 to 2018, Willis Group Holdings (NYSE: WSH) from 2009 to 2014, and The Hartford Financial Services Group (NYSE: HIG) from 2003 to 2009. Among other duties, at First Data, King oversaw the company’s branding partnership with NASCAR. At Willis, he oversaw the record-breaking Willis Resilince Expedition to the South Pole. And at The Hartford, leading the insurer’s community relations efforts, he brought the Coexistence Outdoor Art Exhibition to Connecticut’s capital city.

During his U.S. Government service in the 1990s, King held the role of Director of Production for Presidential Events in the White House Office of Communications. Traveling with the president to 48 U.S. states and 40 countries around the world, King helped to create new strategies and tactics to promote the president’s initiatives, policies and programs, and was at the forefront of efforts to transform presentation of the office of the presidency in the era of cable television news and the dawn of the internet age. King’s book about that work, OFF SCRIPT: An Advance Man’s Guide to White House Stagecraft, Campaign Spectacle, and Political Suicide, was published by St. Martin’s Press in 2016.

King is a regular commentator on the intersection of politics, media and entertainment. He has lectured at universities and at corporate events and authored articles for TIME, Fortune, POLITICO magazine, Men’s Vogue, Brill’s Content, The Washington Post and Variety.
