Kayaking and Hiking with Blue Star Families
WHEN:
Saturday, March 22, 2025, 10:00 am – 12:30 pm
(Please arrive at the front gate of Hanna Park by 9:30 am.)

When you arrive, let the ranger at the front gate know you are attending the kayaking event with the Timucuan Parks Foundation. The $5 entrance fee should be waived. You will be directed to the big field on the east side of the lake. After passing the ranger station, drive approximately 3/4 mile, turn right at the first stop sign, then another right at the T-intersection. Continue past the pavilions to the far side of the field (see attached map).
WHAT TO EXPECT:

Kayaking on Hanna Park Lake: Adventure Kayak will provide kayaks, life vests, instruction, and a safety briefing. Ranger Stephen will lead the kayaking tour.

Guided Nature Walk: Following the kayak adventure, Ranger Stephen will guide a 1.5-mile walk through the forest and along the beach.
WHAT TO WEAR/BRING:
This is an outdoor event. We recommend:

Closed-toed shoes and comfortable clothing

Sunscreen, insect repellent, a hat, and sunglasses

Snacks and a full reusable water bottle (granola bars and extra water will also be provided)
