Mary Mahoney
Spouse of General Christopher Mahoney, USMC, 13th Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff
Mary was born and raised in San Diego, California where she enjoyed working for many years as a cosmetologist. Since becoming a Marine Corps spouse she has stayed busy living abroad and raising two children, ages 15 and 17, and volunteering at their various schools and activities.
As a military spouse Mary has been actively engaged with numerous spouses initiatives and Marine Corps programs, including the Navy Marine Corps Relief Society. She has been involved with the family readiness program and command team at every level. While stationed in Japan, she enjoyed the opportunity to teach English to a group of Japanese spouses.
Currently stationed in Northern VA, Mary has continued her involvement with spouse programs including Capstone where she has sat on senior spouse panels and discussed important topics impacting military families.
In her down time, Mary enjoys hiking with her husband, painting, and attending her kids sporting events.
