Fueling Blue Star Families
Have you seen our limited-edition Campbell’s Chunky Soup cans in Dollar General stores yet? They are available now until supplies last, and for every one purchased, a monetary donation will be made to Blue Star Families. #WINNING ( ?)! But, the real winners here are the folks making a significant difference in their military communities. We identified six of them and sent them Champions of Chunky care packages to fuel their families through the winter.
Never Miss Storytime
Have you heard of Caribu? This app lets you read and draw with your children in a video call, no matter how far apart you are, so you never miss another storytime. It’s a much more engaging and interactive way to video call with the kids! It was named one of TIME Magazine’s Best Inventions and Blue Star Families members get a lifetime subscriptions (a $250 value!). You can download it from the Apple or Google App Stores and instructions for how to sign up for your free Caribu account can be found here.
Our Volunteers Make MLK Day a Day ON (Not Off)
Thanks to a generous grant from the Travis AFB Spouses Club, Blue Star Families volunteers across the country teamed up to do good on MLK Day of Service. Armed with trash bags and a desire to give back to their communities, volunteers spent the day cleaning up the spaces they call home. A big shout out to our powerhouse team for turning their day “off” into a day “on” to make their communities a little brighter!
Tee It Up For The Troops: A Dynamic Caregiver Reunion Event
Blue Star Families delivered, for the second year in a row, two workshops for caregivers attending January’s Tee It Up For The Troops Reunion Event alongside their veterans in Orlando, Florida. Our workshops focused on self-care activities like journaling as well as career issues and support for this population. Learning that the energy they expend should match what they or someone else gives back to them is crucial to living a healthy and well-balanced life. Providing resources and tools to aid these caregivers in their journey with their families was very appreciated and much-needed. We’re so thankful for our partnership with Tee It Up For The Troops and all the wonderful work they do to support veterans and their families.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
We’ve got mad love for awesome members like YOU.
Connecting in the Community:
“This event offered a special opportunity for my family to have time together. My husband is stationed out of state, and this was wonderfully timed for us to be able to enjoy the game during one of his few times home. It was special for us all!”
