How Blue Star Nation Thanked Starbucks in a BIG Way for Supporting the Well-Being of MilFams & Veterans

Did you know May was Military Appreciation Month and Mental Health Awareness Month? A suitable combination as military families, and everyone else in the country, hunkered down at home to self-isolate amidst COVID-19. And while MilFams are usually pros at handling hard times like these, this pandemic exacerbated some existing challenges that had us all checking in on our mental health at one point or another.

Thank goodness many of our Blue Star Neighbors saw the need and raised their hands to help. But one neighbor in particular, Starbucks, went above and beyond to support the mental health and well-being of our military families and veterans during this unprecedented season.

In May, Starbucks launched its Military eGift Give Back. For every Military eGift purchased between May 21 and June 1, Starbucks donated $5 split equally between Blue Star Families and Headstrong to further support wellness programming and events for both organizations.

Because of that, we thought they deserved a big “THANKS!”

Blue Star Families Chapter Directors and their volunteers hosted drive-thru car parades to thank their local Starbucks baristas and store managers for fueling military families – now, through the pandemic, and always. We also called on Blue Star Nation to show their appreciation, “COVID-19 style,” and they overwhelmed us with virtual “Thank You” notes to Starbucks via our Starbucks Community page.

Here’s what some had to say:
