Meet Yuleisy. She’s a Marine spouse who was a stay-at-home mom until she heard about T-Mobile’s military spouse hiring initiative that helped change her career and dreams for the better.

Yuleisy and her family experienced three deployments which led her to focus on raising her three children while her husband was away. Despite having a harder time starting a civilian career, Yuleisy knew she wanted to pursue her dreams. “I want my own career and not my husband’s. I have dreams and achievements I would like to accomplish.” After moving ten times with her family, Yuleisy made the decision to focus on her education and was able to complete her bachelor’s degree online. 

She said, “Completing my bachelor’s degree was a dead end with the constant moves until I took the initiative to complete my entire bachelor’s degree online. ” On top of that, she still managed the household, exercised, taught Zumba, and found ways to make new friends. Military spouses like Yuleisy are truly incredible! 

After attending a Blue Star Families’ RISE Career Event, Yuleisy connected to the T-Mobile hiring team who encouraged her to apply for the Hiring Our Heroes Fellowship. Upon completion, she applied for a position at T-Mobile and got it! “My role will be a corporate recruiter and I am looking forward to starting in April. They are providing me with the training as a full cycle recruiter which will advance my career.”

When asked how her work contributes to her well-being, she said, “It helps my self-esteem and believing in myself. Being able to achieve a career of my own gives me great satisfaction and inspiration.”
