Dr. Mike Haynie is the Vice Chancellor for Strategic Initiatives & Innovation at Syracuse University (SU) and is responsible for a diverse portfolio of academic programs, centers, and innovation initiatives that include the University’s Office of Veterans and Military Affairs as well as Government and Community Relations, and University College.

In 2018, Syracuse University named Haynie a University Professor, the most senior rank awarded to faculty. As the Barnes Professor of Entrepreneurship, Haynie also leads SU’s robust portfolio of entrepreneurship and cross-campus innovation programs, while at the same time serving as the founding Executive Director of Syracuse University’s Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF). Before beginning his academic career, Haynie served 14 years as an officer in the United States Air Force.
