Washington, D.C. — Blue Star Families (BSF), a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting military families, is pleased to announce the appointment of Meredith Terrian as the new Executive Vice President of Chapter Impact. In her new role, Terrian will strengthen military families by working closely with each of the organization’s local Chapters to deliver high-quality programs to their respective communities.
“BSF is thrilled to welcome Meredith into this role,” said Dr. Lindsay Knight, Chief Impact Officer at Blue Star Families. “As we look forward to our next 15 years, and our national Chapter expansion efforts — we want to equip our team with the tools to grow sustainably. Meredith’s strategic insights, fundraising acumen, and program-expansion experience will be a fantastic resource to the entire team.”
Terrian brings more than 14 years of experience in the nonprofit industry, having previously worked as a frontline fundraiser and consultant. Her expertise in strategic planning, capital campaigns, and leadership development makes her a valuable addition to the Blue Star Families team. As the founder of The Allied Group, a consulting firm specializing in military and Veteran nonprofit organizations, Terrian has worked with esteemed institutions such as the Naval Postgraduate School Foundation, Naval War College Foundation, Marine Corps University Foundation, and Space Force Association.
As a USMC spouse for the past 13 years, Terrian is deeply passionate about giving back to the community and making a positive impact. Her dedication to supporting military families aligns with Blue Star Families’ mission to ensure these families thrive in their communities. By building vital networks of support on the ground through partnerships with local businesses, advocating to local and state government, and implementing research-driven programs, Blue Star Families Chapters foster a greater sense of belonging among military families.
“I am looking forward to working with the whole Blue Star Families network to strengthen military families,” said Terrian. “By working closely with each of our local Chapters, we can deliver high-quality programs to their local military communities. It’s a true honor to be on the team!”
Terrian will report bilaterally to Knight, working closely with other BSF impact programs such as Blue Star Outdoors, Careers, Digital Innovation, the Campaign for Inclusion, and Support Circles, and Chief Operation Officer Noeleen Tillman. Together, they will lead the organization’s efforts to provide comprehensive support and resources to military families across the nation.
