More Than Words: How Starbucks Coffee Company Continues to Show Up for Those Who Serve, Veterans and Their Families

Published: May 18, 2025

Starbucks Military Appreciation Month

Military Appreciation Month is a time when gratitude is expressed in many ways — but some companies go beyond gestures, showing up authentically and consistently for veterans, service members, and their families year-round.

For years, Starbucks has stood shoulder to shoulder with the service member community, offering more than just career opportunities. They’ve fostered a sense of belonging and recognition in their coffeehouses across the nation, working alongside non-profit military and veteran organizations to ensure that those who serve, have served, and their families feel valued.

Why It Matters Now More Than Ever

As veterans and military families, we understand the power of community support. It’s not just about appreciation; it’s about action. And today, more than ever, we need our civilian neighbors to stand alongside us.

Starbucks has been a leader in bridging that gap, showing that we are all at our best when we uplift one another with dignity, respect and kindness.

Turning Gratitude Into Impact

One of the ways Starbucks is taking action is through its Military Appreciation eGift giveback initiative. From May 1-31, for every Starbucks Military Appreciation eGift sold, the company will donate $5—evenly split between Blue Star Families and the Travis Manion Foundation. These donations directly support vital programs, resources, and events that strengthen military families, help Veterans transition successfully, and empower the next generation of leaders.

Veterans Deserve More Than Just Thanks

We know that true support isn’t about a single month—it’s about year-round action. Starbucks is just one example of a company making a tangible difference all year long, but they aren’t alone.

People care.
Companies care.
You are seen.
You are appreciated.

And we’ll continue to share the stories of those who stand beside us. Because your service and sacrifices will never be forgotten, within this community and beyond.
