Event Overview
Blue Star Families – in partnership with The Chamberlain Project and Howard University – invite you to join us for a series of discussions commemorating the 75th Anniversary of the integration of the armed forces.
This event will not only delve into the history of this important milestone, but highlight and educate how the civil rights movement and military integration created a “talk-back” between each other over the past 75 years. We will consider both the legacies and movements between Veterans of color, the civil rights movement, and civil rights within the military.
The day’s events will feature a series of panel discussions, bringing together esteemed scholars, members of the Blue Star Families’ Campaign for Inclusion Committee, Retiring Officer Teaching Fellows from The Chamberlain Project, and key stakeholders in the military, Veteran, education, and civil rights communities.
