“The military community is a community used to dealing with difficult situations. They’re used to not giving up [and] going at a problem until it’s taken care of.” And that’s why T-Mobile wants to hire military spouses and Veterans like YOU.
Meet David, also known as Mr. Magenta. David is a family man, who’s been an integral part of the T-Mobile team since 2014. He is extremely grateful for his time and role with the Un-carrier team, as it has given him the opportunity to be successful and financially take care of his family. He also credits his two uncles who served in the Navy with teaching him how to live with discipline and manners.
With a name as bright as “Mr. Magenta,” it should come as no surprise that he’s super passionate about everything he does. He gives 100% to everything, like his job at T-Mobile. Deciding to begin a job with T-Mobile was “the best … hardest” decision of his life because he was successful at his other job. But he had a feeling that he could turn his opportunity at T-Mobile into a career. Over the last five years, he’s been promoted three times and is now an Enterprise Account Executive.
In his current role, David manages a portfolio and is a trusted advisor for Fortune 1000 clients. He prospects new clients and accounts that are not currently with the carrier and shows them how they can thrive with T-Mobile technology. His ultimate goal is to bring these businesses and accounts into the T-Mobile family so they can have a one-of-a-kind customer experience.
David thinks that for people working for T-Mobile, they too, can get the one-of-a-kind experience that will help them thrive. For the military community, the T-Mobile business-to-business (B2B) sales team has a variety of roles and career paths. What’s more, we know the military community has the adaptability and grit that will help them thrive and grow at T-Mobile. It’s a win-win!
T-Mobile currently has over 250 career openings for B2B sales, and they want to hire military spouses and Veterans.
“Whether it’s the day-to-day life of [someone] deployed or stateside training or a military spouse handling a lot of the day-to-day life by themselves, they’re used to not giving up and going at a problem until it’s taken care of.” While the military lifestyle is far from easy, those are the skills needed to be successful. “The ability to stay calm under pressure and to continue to go after the objective is something that can easily be transferred into this role.”
David let us in on a little secret. In 2023, T-Mobile’s B2B team is rolling out a massive hiring initiative for a role they call Sales Development Representative (SDR). If you are new to B2B sales, this is a great opportunity to learn new skills and potentially even grow within T-Mobile to a position like David’s as Account Executive. In the SDR role, you’d be the first point of contact for all leads generated by the marketing team. SDRs cultivate and quickly respond to inquiries by email and phone, qualifying potential customers and connecting them with T-Mobile Account Executives like David. Once hired into roles like this, T-Mobile invests training in their SDRs so they are not only prepared to talk about the latest in leading technology that T-Mobile offers their customers but also the sales skills that can be carried with military spouses into additional career paths on T-Mobile’s business sales team.
If that hasn’t convinced you enough that you may have the potential for a career with T-Mobile, the company also focuses on the things that matter most — the people that make up its team. According to David, everyone is included and accepted, no matter where you come from. Everyone is treated equally and has the opportunity to succeed if they put in the hard work. Just like in life, the harder you work, the better the outcome you’ll see. Or in David’s words, “the juice is well worth the squeeze.”
T-Mobile careers is on a mission to hire 10,000 military spouses and Veterans. They’re working with Blue Star Families to put your needs first, ensuring their employment initiatives work with your lifestyle. Want a job with a company that’s got your back?
